Its burial sections include a neo-Gothic brick chapel and the Rathenau family tomb. The main entrance on verlängerte Rathenaustraße is a useful starting point for a first visit.
Before you visit
The gates open at 7:30 am. Visiting ends at 8 pm from April to September and at 6 pm from October to March. The ceremony hall has eight entrance steps. Some paths within individual burial sections are also too narrow for a wheelchair.
What makes this cemetery distinctive
Emil Rathenau’s family donated the cemetery; the first burial took place in 1903. A walk connects the chapel and historic tombs. A nature area with habitats for wild bees, lizards and breeding birds complements the older cemetery.

Where is the main entrance?
On verlängerte Rathenaustraße, with the visitor address verlängerte Rathenaustraße 131 a, 12459 Berlin. The monument register lists the same place as An der Wuhlheide 131A.
When is the cemetery open?
Daily from 7:30 am to 8 pm in April–September, and 7:30 am to 6 pm in October–March.
Can I park at the cemetery?
There are 14–20 spaces outside the entrance. Capacity may be insufficient during several funerals. No dedicated disabled spaces are listed.
Does the ceremony hall have step-free access?
No. The hall has eight entrance steps and the waiting room has four. The grounds have step-free access, but some paths between plots are only 50 cm wide.

Is Walther Rathenau buried here?
Yes. He is buried with Emil, Mathilde and Erich Rathenau in the family tomb. The site plan marks the Rathenau memorial area.
