Which grave types are available?
The district’s overview lists coffin and urn row graves, coffin and urn choice plots, communal coffin and urn areas, and Ruhegemeinschaft plots at Oberschöneweide Forest Cemetery. Above-ground urn niches in stelae are also listed. Ask the cemetery administration which plots are currently available and which locations you can choose.
Individual plots and shared maintenance
The cemetery administration maintains communal areas. This cemetery offers options with names recorded as well as anonymous burials. A central area is provided for flowers.
A Ruhegemeinschaft combines a recorded name with maintenance arranged through a long-term contract. Before deciding, establish whether you prefer an individually designed plot, a communal area or an urn niche, and who will maintain it. The name woodland cemetery does not itself imply tree graves; the district’s overview lists these for a different cemetery.
